CurrentSea is a blog by Ellen Johnson about current topics in marine science and conservation. The goal of CurrrentSea is to spark discussion about the threats facing our oceans and to inspire a sense of wonder about the beauty and diversity of life in the ocean.

I am a graduate student in the Department of Marine Sciences at the University of Connecticut, where I study marine pollutants. I hope to advance scientific literacy by communicating research in a way that non-specialists can understand, and to make challenging questions in conservation dialogue accessible to everyone.
