I am a graduate student in marine sciences at the University of Connecticut, Avery Point. My work combines marine science, science communication, and environmental outreach. I try to show people how amazing the ocean is and why we should protect it.
Before starting graduate school, I was a science instructor at the Ocean Institue in Dana Point, California.
I earned my B.S. in chemistry with a minor in environmental studies at the University of Redlands. For my thesis, I researched nutrient and pesticide pollution in the bays of San Juan Island in Washington state, where seagrass coverage has declined in recent decades.
Besides studying and writing, I also teach chemistry labs.
