Her life is a perfect example of how democracy, human rights, and environmental protection are of the same breed. After she started the Green Belt movement, her husband swiftly divorced her, for being “too strong minded for a woman,” (Wiki).

She’s an absolute boss for everything worth fighting for. But at the same time, is one of many worth remembering.
